WFDP - don't forget about people with disabilities during a pandemic
The crisis caused by the coronavirus infection COVID-19 affects all areas of our society. Today we want to draw attention to the consequences of the pandemic for 1 billion people with disabilities worldwide.
Even under normal conditions, people with disabilities experience inequality and create new problems. During the current crisis, the highest mortality rate among persons with disabilities is observed.
The likelihood that the disease will proceed in a severe form and can lead to death.
Unfortunately, at the moment, many people with disabilities live in poverty, do not have access to social assistance, and are deprived of protection.
The WFDP is working on projects, the fight against coronavirus, and COVID-19, and its consequences, should give priority to and give them equal rights to medical and vital care.
